Marshmallow Pops

Marshmallow pops make cute, edible decorations for your baby shower. You can customize them in any style you like to match your theme simply by changing the color of the sprinkles. Or, add a paper flag or ribbon connected in a bow around the top of the lollipop stick to dress them up even more.

They are simple and cheap to make. They would be perfect for your dessert table, or wrapper them in a lollipop bag and you can make them out as party favors.

  • Insert a lollipop stick into each marshmallow, working sure not to pound it through the other side. Set aside.Link

  • Put vanilla almond bark (or candy melts) in a medium sized bowl and melt in the microwave. Start with 1 minute on high, stir. Keep heating 20-30 seconds at a time until completely liquid.

  • Take a marshmallow and drop it into the liquid candy, covering about 1/2 to 3/4 of the marshmallow. When you pull it out, turn it back and forth to let the extra drop off, or gently pat the stick on the side of the bowl.

  • Keep over a plate and sprinkle with sprinkles, twisting around to cover all the sides. Stand up on mounted paper and allow candy to dry and harden. You can also stick the lollipop stick in a piece of styrofoam with the marshmallow sticking up.

  • If you want to give them out as favors, put them in a lollipop grip or treat bag after they have dried totally. Tie the bag closed with ribbon. Tie a favor tag for an excess touch.

Tips:
  • Add food coloring to vanilla almond skin to get the color you want. Wilton also gets colored candy melts. You can find them in the trade section at Walmart or the candy making section in craft stores. This is also where you will find lollipop sticks and bags.

•Lollipop sticks
•Almond bark or candy melts, in desired color.
